Hi Werner, I've read somewhere that belching can also be caused by the fact that you aren't digesting your food properly. If you are on a PPI perhaps this is the reason.
I personally don't think that you would be able to feel the air that you swallow. Nervous type people don't stand around and gulp air, they just breath a whole lot more and take in more air, thus causing one to burp more.
